Palm oil?

Most African foods makes use of palm oil in preparing their soup or stew and even frying. It is considered a necessity in almost every Kitchen.
Palm oil and palm kernel oil are high in calories and saturated fat. One table-spoon of palm oil has 120 calories. So you can imagine that when cooking especially making soup. Palm oil contain saturated fat of 6.7g, polyunsaturated fat 1.3g and monounsaturated fat 5g. All making up 13.6g. Due to the high fat and calories content in palm oil, avoid using Palm Oil when not necessary maybe frying and the likes, and if you must, use only a small quantity. Remember, for any meal you prepare to eat, just by adding one tablespoon of palm oil, you have added 120 calories already.
So watch out on this. Likewise look out for the list of ingredient when you buy branded product such as plantain chips and the likes as most makers use palm oil.
Great advise for people trying to lose weight with African food or want to live a healthy lifestyle with African diet is to cut their consumption of palm oil but rather make use of extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil when cooking as it has been scientifically proven to burn fat. Olive oil seems to be readily more available in our market than coconut oil.
So, enjoy cooking and eating healthy with low-fat oil.

The Easiest Way to Burn 600 EXTRA Calories a Week And you won’t even work up a sweat

What if you could work off that slice of pizza without doing a single squat? Good news: You can. You can burn more than 40 calories per hour just by standing, according to a new study at the University of Chester in the U.K.
In a small study of 10 office workers, researchers asked the volunteers to stand up while working for at least three hours each day for a week. They found that standing raised their heart rates just enough that they burned an extra 0.7 calories per minute, or 42 calories per hour. It might not seem like much, but standing for three extra hours a day during the work week adds up to 630 calories burned!
So aside from hiding your chair, how can you log more standing hours? First, ask your company if they’ll allow you to buy or build a standing desk. If not, you can always try these simple tweaks to get off your butt for at least three hours every day and stand up for your health:
Stand up while watching your favorite fall show. It’s more suspenseful that way anyway, we swear.
Give up your seat on the bus or train. Good karma and good glutes.
Browse your iPad while standing up. It’s portable for a reason—get off the couch.
Grab a high-top table at a restaurant. Bonus: They usually have less of a wait, too.
Eat breakfast standing at the kitchen counter. You’re in a hurry anyway, aren’t you?
Take phone calls standing up. And at home, walk around while talking.
Chop produce at home (while standing) instead of buying pre-cut veggies. Plus, these are way cheaper than the already-cut packages.
Stand up to do mundane chores (like paying bills/answering emails/etc.). Chances are you’ll be even more efficient.

FOTD: Sultry spring time look

Hi folks thanks for stopping by. I wore a muted sultry spring look yesterday and I got a lot of oohs and ahhs. So i decided to do a blog post on it. Here are the products i used and the techniques as well. If you would like to see a video of it, please send me a mail or make a comment via www.beessignature.blogspot.com.
Products used:
Moisturizer: extra virgin coconut oil (yes I've got combination skin but coconut oil seeps into the skin so no fear of shine. It's fab and on sale at our studio)
Face primer: milk of magnesia
Foundation: Revlon colorstay for combination to oily skin, cappuccino
Set with Zarina loose powder nz25
Highlights: black opal stick foundation,  nutmeg ser with Ben nye banana powder
Contours: Revlon colorstay in mocha and black opal stick foundation in carob set with contour kit
Brows: jordana twist up pencil and zaron brow kit
Eyelid: zaron browkit
Crease: red shadow in sleek limited edition palette, zaron brow kit dark brown
Outer v: black matte sleek shadow
Lip: island beauty pink soufflé
Mascara: NYC volume max
Liner: maybelline collosal kajal
Setting powder: milani mineral
I started with my brows, then went on to do my foundation,  highlighting and contouring.  I eft the Ben nye powder to set on my highlights while working on my eyes. This will also serve as a catcher for loose shadow fall offs.
To get a sharp edge, I used plaster ri set out an edge at the outer corner of my eye.
I started with the red color in my crease as the transition color then put the brown over it and on my eyelid. Lastly I put the black at the outer edge and blended all together.  I actually did not use a primer. Just damp brushes.
I lined with my kajal and added my mascara. At this point, I dusted of the Ben nye powder
I used my foundation as a base for my lips, the added a bit of the pink soufflé I iwanted a nude effect and I think I nailed it.
Lastly I set the whole look with my milani powder.
And that's it!
Like I said earlier, if you want a video tutorial just Holla and I'll
Make it happen.
