Ife's makeover
Ife came for a wedding in Ibadan and wanted to look different. She doesn't really use makeup so even her brows were virgin and she wated me to leave it that way. I managed to convince her i'd remove only a few strands of hair to at least make it look professionaly done! Also she already had on individual flare lashes which covered most of her lid area so i decided to do a gold and purple smokey look, extending the crease colour above the crease to make the eye makeup visible.
And her gele! hmmn it was really small, we almost gave up on it, but hey, the Queen bee in me just wouldn't.

The Oriflame opportunity
And this opportunity doesn't cost an arm and a leg like some you know.
oriflame is a Swedish cosmetics and daily care company which sells directly through registered consultants. That means take their products are not sold in cosmetic shops but from one person to another. To be a consultant, you register as a member with 1200 naira only and then buy products worth at least 100 business points which is about 8600 naira. Let's just say a total of 10000. When you register you get a starter pack which would include some forms, a welcome book and a product catalog which shows d list of products available at the time and their prices.
The first good news is you buy at 23% discount so that when you sell at catalog price you make an instant profit of 30%. So for example if a product is 1000 catalog price, you buy at about 700.
Now if you want to earn more money, which is good news 2, you need to start recruiting new consultants too. If for example you now have 5 new consultants under you and each of them have bought their first 100 points and you have bought your own too, you will have a group business point of 600bp and a personal business point of 100bp. 600 BP means you are a 6% consultant. A 6% consultant will first of all have an additional 6% discount on purchases,
and then because your down lines only have 100bp which is 0% consultant, (0-199bp is 0%, 200-599 is 3%, 600 to 1200 is 6%...) you will also get a 6-0=6% discount on all of their sales. That's good news 3.

Multiple products review: La girl glazed lip paint in Hot mess; Fashion fair lip teaser: canary diamond; Nicka K liquid eye liner, black
Today i want to do a quick review on 3 products mentioned above, the two lip products were in my goody bags from the Beauty press series pre launch while the eyeliner is one of the products i sell.
La girl glazed lip paint Hot Mess:
What La girl says:
Glazed Lip Paints give the intensely pigmented appearance of a lipstick, with the ease and glossy finish of a lipgloss.Glazed Collection includes 18 of the most sought-after, trendsetting colors this season while providing long lasting, hyper glossy, ultra rich color to lips.
This proven iconic product offers shades that range from nudes to brights to deep berries. Cool and nourish your lips with the added benefits of vitamin E and peppermint oil. The Glazed Lip Collection is an instant must-have that accurately portrays the color trends expected to be seen on the runway. A precision tip applicator is provided to facilitate application.
-Provides the shine of a lip gloss.
-Gives the intensely pigmented appearance of a liquid lipstick
-Delivers rich color with staying power.
Pros
this is a fierce orange lip gloss, with a great color pay off and long wear. Lasts about 4 hours before fading off into a stain like look.
Cons
its quite moisturizing but has tendencies of running so using it with a lip liner will be the best option.
Also it has a rather strong minty smell and feel which in my opinion isn't cool. Most glosses i know have fruity smells and why would i want a tingly feel from gloss when its not for chapped lips?
Anyway the comforting thing about this is the mintyness (lol at my new word) goes off after a short while.
Verdict:
It's a very nice product. I'd like to try the red and the purple cause im not so much a fan of orange, it doesn't show much on my skin as shown but Yes i'd buy and recommend to clients!
Fashion fair lip teasers, Canary diamond
What Fashion fair says:
Blanket your lips in super shiny, sensuous color that lasts for hours.
|
|
this has become my go to lip highlighter since i finished my tube of Zaron gold lipstick and couldn't get another to buy. I love it!
Nicka K liquid eyeliner:
I got a request for this review on instagramWhat Nicka K says:
Easy to apply, our quick-dry NK Eyeliner stays in place without running. The ultra- opaque, water-resistant formula imparts lasting wear, while a tapered brush provides optimal precision.
Pros:
This is indeed long lasting! i applied it on my hand, washed plates, cooked, picked my children from school..... and it was still on my hand when i wanted to clean up for bed!!!
Its true black and water proof. I'd post a look of the day featuring this liner soon.
cons:
if you are not used to liquid liners, you may end up with a smudged line cause the brush is a bit soft.
Verdict:
I love the intensity and durability of this product. Its top notch and cheap too. I sell at N700 only.
Fashion fair products can be bought from @giftysdaughter stores nation wide while you can get la girl products wholesale from @makeupmavennyng, for retail, please contact me for prices.
that's it folks.
Till next time.

Picture of the day: What are you paying for?
Saw this picture on a colleague's dp and decided to share. It's so true! Sometimes people say "is it not to rub powder and lipstick?" But it is much more than that! So next time you are haggling with a make up artist, please be nice and state what you can afford instead of acting like she is not doing anything special.

Skincare for hot weather and beyond.
Hello,
It's December again and though the weather isn't cold and dusty yet here in ibadan, it is so dry and hot! The sun is not smiling at all these days, but in all things we give God praise.
The heat has Inspired me to write this post on proper skincare during this season.
The sun's harmful UVA and UVB rays are damaging to the skin. According to the world health organization, "UVA penetrates into the deeper skin layers, where connective tissue and blood vessels are affected. As a result the skin gradually loses its elasticity and starts to wrinkle. Therefore, large doses of UVA cause premature ageing. Furthermore, recent studies strongly suggest that it may enhance the development of skin cancers. The mechanisms of this UVA damage are not fully understood, but a popular hypothesis assumes that UVA increases oxidative stress in the cell.
UVB stimulates the production of new melanin, which leads to a heavy increase in the dark-coloured pigment within a few days. This tan may last a relatively long time. UVB also stimulates the cells to produce a thicker epidermis. Therefore, UVB is responsible both for the darkening and thickening of the outer cell layers – these reactions are the body's defence against further UV damage.
However, higher doses of UVB cause sunburn which increases your likelihood of developing cancer".
In the light of this, we need to do all we can to protect our skin.
Firstly, you need a proper skincare routine which you will follow morning and night.
In the morning, use a mild facial cleanser suitable for your skin type to remove dirt, sweat and excess oil residue. Follow that with a toner. If you have normal to dry skin, use a nourishing toner rich in emollients such as glycerin, rose water and so on, for oily skin, combination, use toners with very low concentration of alpha hydroxy acid to aid cell turnover.
Lastly moisturize. No matter what your skin type is, there is a facial moisturizer and a body moisturizer for you. Please don't mix them up because you most likely have different skin types on your face and body. Also, you need day creams and night creams. Day cream usually contains sunscreen to protect your skin from UV rays. Use it generously on all exposed areas.
Night cream on the other hand contain exfoliators and rejuvenators to renew the skin and reveal younger glowing skin.
Apart from the daily routine, you should incorporate weekly skin pampering which would include facial steaming, body sauna, facial scrubbing, body polishing, facial masking, body wrapping. These can be done at home if you know your way around it or if you can afford it, you can visit a skincare expert near you. The table below obtained from oriflame4me.co.uk can guise you in choosing sun protection. The numbers represent sun protection factor SPF. The brands are sleek studio exfoliating range and oriflame sun protection range.

Beauty press series pre launch event.
Gifty's daughter goody bag contents |
Makeupmaven ny ng goody bag |
Sleek S.Studio goody bag |
Trust you had a nice day like i did, though mine was a bit stressful but it was totally worth it. I was in Lagos (again!) for the Beauty press series pre-launch event hosted by Pops concepts at the Sleek square, Victoria Island.
"The Beauty Press Series (BPS)is a platform for beauty & lifestyle bloggers, editors & industry influencers to meet with beauty brands & establish a connection. BPS is a press-only beauty product showcase featuring brands providing a one-on-one opportunity to get the meet brands, those behind these brands and get first-hand information of their products and services. It’s also an opportunity to network with other like minded bloggers and editors.
BPS is designed as a quarterly event and What better way to place your brand to be considered for editorial coverage in popular and industry niche blogs and media outlets via The Beauty Press Series."
I got a personal invite from Omolola Faleye the CEO of Pops concepts who noticed that i had revived my love for blogging! One amazing thing happened at the event, i said hello to Funke of Gifty's daughter whom i met physically for the first time and she goes wait..... i know you, you are Bunmi, i've not finished o, you stay in Ibadan, wait o... you have a facebook group on beauty tutors, and yes you organize events in ibadan for beautypreneurs. I was like wow! whatever you do, just keep doing it right, people are noticing and it will pay off someday soon.
Anyway, back to the gist. So we started with an opening prayer and a "why we are here" by Lola. After which Doyin Ubani of Chloe's makeover did a presentation on her blog, how she started slowly, attended an event where she met Sisi Yemi, a blogger, got introduced to a web developer, got moore serious, and is now pullling a lot of traffic and clients to her blog and business.
Next we had 3 brands showcasing their businesses:
Makeupmaven Newyork Nigeria, Gifty's Daughter and Sleek studios.
After which we had a networking session, refreshments (which i unfortunately couldnot eat because it had snail in it which i abhor! i know i've heard i'm a bush girl. lol) and then we were given FREE products! Which i will use on myself, friends and clients and let you know my honest opinion soon.
It was lots of fun, i met new people and was encouraged to do more. I also got some products i'd been longing after. I didn't go with my camera so i don't have a lot of pictures but manage these ones i took with my phone biko.
watch this space though. I will be giving out one or two freebies for Christmas to a faithful reader.
Till next time,
Stay Beeyoutiful

Product review: Zaron Lipstick: dusk 06
Hi peeps,
A wonderful new month to you all! May what is left of this year bring only joy and good cheer.
Today i want to talk about one of my Zaron products, Dusk 06 lipstick. The one i was given during the makeup artists' appreciation day.
What Zaron says:
Nothing!
It's absolutely amazing that with all the fabulous products they have, their website (http://zaron.com.ng/zaron/) is not so keen on product description!
Packaging:
It comes in a sleek black tube and cover. As with all other Zaron products, it is enclosed in a black carton pack.
Texture:
It's a sheer, moisturizing yet not too glossy lipstick
My verdict:
The first thing i noticed about this lipstick is lovely fruity bubble gum smell. I've bought a few not so nice smelling lippies recently and this is a breadth of fresh air!
It wasn't so true to it's colour, the colour in the tube looks a bit darker than it was on my lips. I was a bit disappointed cause I thought it would be more pigmented than it is, the swatches from right to left show one to four swipes each respectively, and they don't really look different.
However, what it lacks in pigmentation, it makes up for in texture! i love the way it glided on smoothly and instantly made my lips feel like they were born to wear it! lol Also it didn't look as glossy as it felt which i'm happy about because i'm not so into shiny lips.
It stayed on my lips for hours, i actually took it off myself after about 4 hours.
And my lips felt smooth till the end!
Recommendations:
If you have dry scaly lips, You would love this lipstick, i would also recommend it to those who aren't so concerned about bold lips but just want something nice and soft that will last long.
Have you tried any Zaron products? Do tell us about them.
Till next time,
stay Beeyoutiful!
