Yesterday, Nsoleke handiwork and Bee's Signatures hosted beautiful makeup artists at the second edition of the holistic beautypreneur, an educative workshop series for Entrepreneurs in the beauty industry at the prestigious jogor center, ibadan. We were quite few but we all enjoyed every bit of it.
The day started off with an opening address by Olubunmi Fajuyigbe, the principal instructor of Bee's Signatures.

After which Tayo Sojebe of mymakeupng took to the microphone to tell us about how her business partner and her grew their business from about N150000 for their first stock purchase to the millions of naira they now control. She talked about the importance of Facebook, Twitter, instagram, Google ads, analytics and more.
Next we had tea break and a video presentation. After which Love Olaleye of Flawless makeover took us through the steps of flawless bridal makeup from cleansing to the final powder touch up.
She graciously shared with us the little things that make all the difference and opened her box wide for all to see and even take notes of her products.
Next we had our business class with the beauty entrepreneur, Teniolami Adejuwon of BBN who said for you to be taken serious as a business owner, you have to be very professional and separate your self from your business which should be a separate entity.
Lola Maja of sacred artistry talked about the need for education and constant skills upgrade. She also warned that we should learn to say no to clients when they want us to do things we weren't trained to do for them especially when it comes to skin therapy. She explained that being a skin therapist requires seriousness and lots of anatomy and physiology classes, while being a makeup artist requires artistry and eyes for details. She went on to say that we should have options for our brides and clients such that they would keep coming back even after the wedding is over.
Lunch was a sumptuous meal of fried and jollof rice with massive steak chunks, Rema of Jaga beauty described it as humongous! Lol
Our last class was with the CEO of Olere
Photography, Dipo Akinpelu who wondered why a makeup artist would request natural ambience light while doing the makeup and then flood the pictures with artificial flash lights.
He advised us to take our brides portrait pictures very close to windows or outdoors to get the best of the pictures. . There's so much more we learnt and everyone present had one on one talk time with the trainers (cool right?).
So till the next edition, I guess it's right to say have a successful, holistic beauty business.
