Hi there!
Looking forward to tomorrow's elections? Please vote wisely and prayerfully and remember, nobody's ambition is worth dieing for.
So to today's business, many ladies complain about dull skin, acne and similar skin issues. One of the ways by which these can be prevented is regular exfoliation. Exfoliation is the removal of the dead, outermost part of the skin in order to reveal fresher, younger skin lying beneath the dead layer. This can be done chemically using chemical peels or mechanically using face and body scrubs.
Because of the sensitive nature of chemical peels, it's advisable to get one from a Spa via an experienced skin therapist/ aesthetician.
Mechanical peels on the other hand are creamy with tiny rough grains which when rubbed gently on the skin take off the unwanted dead skin. Branded scrubs are available in cosmetic shops but if you'd like to learn to make yours then please read on.
Ingredients:
1 part lemon juice
2 parts fine grained granulated sugar
4 parts Shea butter
eg 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 2 teaspoons sugar, 4 teaspoons Shea butter.
Process:
combine Shea butter and sugar mixing thoroughly, add lemon juice a drop at a time, combining it thoroughly with the sugar and butter paste.
Usage:
dampen face and or body, working gradually, gently rub the paste on with your fingers and palms and massage into the skin for about a minute, rinse off with warm water, then wipe off excess oil with a damp, cold face towel.
This scrub is actually multifunctional. The use of lemon which contains hydroxy acids, a naturally occuring exfoliator ad the sugar which acts as the mechanical exfoliator combined with shea butter which soothes and moisturizes the skin is a winner any day.
NB
If you have oily skin, you might want to use this at night cause of the shea butter.
Try it and let me know what you feel, if you've tried it before, let me know if it suits you.
till next time
