How to Apply Makeup in 10 Easy Steps

What you will need: Concealer and Concealer brush or your fingers, foundation and foundation sponge/brush, Mascara, eye shadows and brushes, blush and blush brush, Powder and Powder puff/brush, Lipstick, Lip Gloss

Process

1              Apply a concealer that is one shade lighter than your foundation. Dot it on over any blemishes or under-eye circles and blend with your fingertips or a makeup sponge. You can apply eye cream under your eyes before concealer to avoid caking.

2             Apply foundation in dots over the central part of your face, forehead, nose, cheeks above and beneath your mouth, then blend it out with a damp makeup sponge/brush or your fingertips until it covers your entire face.

3              Apply powder to set your concealer and foundation, this will make your makeup last longer

4              Define your eyebrows using powdered eyebrow shadow, or gel eyebrow definer (Hegai and Esther brow definer is an excellent, and waterproof gel definer) Apply it with a hard, slanted brush. If you don't have either of the above, use a brow pencil that suits your brow hairs. please don't use black except your hair is jet black. 5              Choose three colors of neutral eye shadow, preferably in the same colour family: light, medium and dark. Use the light  shade for the whole eye, from the the under brow to the lid. Use the medium colour in the crease , and the darkest colour on the outer part of the lid for definition. Blend properly.

    

6      Apply eyeliner. Use a gel or liquid eyeliner with a damp, thin liner brush, or an eyeliner pencil, and line the lower lid below the lashes. Line only the outer two-thirds of the lower lid, or all the way across if you're trying to achieve a darker look. Line all the way across the upper lid (just above the lash line and as close to the lashes as possible), or start the line where your lashes begin. The upper liner should thicken as you move towards the outer eye corner.

 7      Apply mascara to upper and lower lashes, in two thin coats to avoid clumps. Black or brown-black works well for dark skinned ladies. 

8      Smile to find the apples of your cheeks, and apply blush to the apples or below, whichever you prefer. If you have to blend in blush, it's too bright.

9      Choose a lipstick color that's suited to your skin tone and that's perfect for your day look. You can mix colors and textures to suit your moods and your outfits. Nude colours like light brown, peach, pink, brown are suitable for everyday looks. Save the ruby red for special occasions and night time except you are in an industry such as mine where colour is very well entertained and accepted.

10     Line lips and apply lipstick. Use a liner that is either your lip colour or the colour of your lipstick. Make sure you blend the liner and lipstick properly.
