I'm not popular.

Hello,

I wanted to clear some misconceptions today about perceived success.

We live in a time and age where flashy is everything!
A world where we define ourselves by other people's validations or otherwise
A world where the number of followers and/or likes you get on social media is perceived as the level of success you have attained.

People HIT it overnight and they become our heroes, prayer points, focus of obsession.

Well,

I'd like to let you know that that is not true success.

no, no, no

Did I say NO yet?

Success is achieving your goals, goals that have made significant impacts in your life first, (love your neighbour AS yourself) then in the lives of others.
Impact is touching lives, giving time, resources and knowledge to help others, success is being kind and sensible, success is being well behaved, success is having well behaved children, success is standing up against injustice on the vulnerable.

I could go on, but I'm sure you now get it.

So before you judge someone's ( or YOUR) success by popularity, think about it.
Is there IMPACT?

Sister with a purpose

Isn't it amazing how you attend some programs and weeks after you can still hear the speaker's voice ringing in your head?
That's exactly how the second quarter session of SWAP is as I've received so much positive feedback from the ladies that attended. I can't but give glory to God!

Some even requested for another session next month. Hmnn, we'll see how that goes, no promises at all.

The session was recorded and this time around it will be made available at a fee to anyone who is interested.

Be technology savvy. Attend SWAP 2nd quarter session

Hello

It's been a minute, did you miss me like I did you? I've been working on quite a number of  projects. One of them is SWAP, Sister with a purpose second quarter session.

SWAP is a forum for women who will like to discover and fulfil purpose God's way. We have quarterly sessions where we pray, learn about different things, network and generally enjoy ourselves in the company of like minded women. These sessions for now, take place only in Ibadan.

Then next one comes up next week Monday, 2nd of May, by 10am

Speakers

Adedoyin Jaiyesimi is a Writer, Editor, Communications professional and a lover of all things content. 

A graduate of Law from the University of Leeds (UK), her work has been featured on Connect Nigeria, Y! Magazine (now Y! Africa), Discovery, Pride Magazine Nigeria amongst others. She is the founder of Content Craft, an editorial and social media consultancy company which provides content writing services and social media management for established brands and start-ups. 

Adedoyin is also the founder of The Sparkle Writer’s Hub, a platform for upcoming writers, editors and content managers to hone their writing skills. 

She currently holds the position of Brand Communications Manager at Victor Adeyemi Ministries.

Eunice Oche is a graduate of computer science from Houdegbe North American University, Republic of Benin. She also holds a diploma in Social Media Marketing; she worked at ministry of women affairs and social development in Abia State. 

She is currently the advertisement manager for Jetheights Services Limited, a fast growing organization based in the U.K and Nigeria that builds small and medium sized companies in Africa.

Jet heights has worked with top companies in the U.K and in partnership with over 30 organizations such as Google, Facebook, Jumia, spectranet and many others. 

She also holds a certification in Management Information Technology.

I will also be showing attendees how they can create eye catching images for their social media platforms.

Spaces are very limited. So everyone has to pre register and pay by Friday, 29th April.

As you all know, apart from being a beauty and wellness coach, I am a very good makeup artist in Nigeria, if I may say so myself. So when kayode of MAK photography wanted to pay tribute to his love of coke (I've told him he's playing with fire!), he called on me.

Business lessons learnt in the past few weeks

Hello there
I've been AWOL! Alot happened, thank God they were all good things.


I attended the WIMBIZ round table talk. It was enlightening. I was also at Executive leadership training organized by Business owners' forum. At the weekend, I was at The Lead, an empowerment seminar organized by the human resources development unit of Global harvest church, liberty road, Ibadan.

My children also celebrated their birthdays (they are two years, 2 days apart in age, no it wasn't planned!)

I am really full and I'm taking sometime out to reorganize my thoughts, plans and businesses.
I'll share some bits and pieces as the days go by but what I noticed from all these meetings is that it was established that the poor man is not the one who currently lacks cash, but the one who lacks ideas and the foolish man is the one who places cash above ideas.

What is that idea that you have? don't discard it, don't despise it.
Develop it, develop yourself, start from and with what you have.
The limit is beyond the sky!

Business events in Ibadan this week

Hi all

I will be at some events this week and I thought to share in case anyone is interested in attending any of them.

on friday, On thursday, there will be the monthly WIMBIZ roundtable talk in Ibadan. It's for women in business and management coming up this Thursday in Bodija by noon.

On Friday, I will be at Jogor center for the Executive leadership training event organized by Business owner's forum tagged Making money, Managing money.

Lastly, on Saturday, I will attend and speak briefly at On point small business success empowerment and networking event for entrepreneurs.

How my week went

Hello,

Trust you had a lovely week? Mine was a time of rest, awakening and impartation. I was reminded of who I am and what potentials I posses.

I had to take some time off to rest as I had a bout of catarrh and cough due to the change in weather, which is not totally gone now, is well contained.

Prompted by one of my mentors, I took (again) the personality test and discovered (again) that my personality type, INTP is very rare and has got a lot potentials. (you can take the test here).

I went through my goals for the year and realized that even though I had done well in some aspects, I was unconsciously holding back on others. I have decided to go all out and get accountable on them.

Secondly, I was opportune to speak to the singles in my church on social media as a tool for business growth. If you would like to have the slides I used, please drop your email address in the comment box below and i'll send it to you as an email.

I was also on a radio program on Lagelu FM in Ibadan on International women's day to talk about wellness for women. The interview was in pidgin english, how I murdered pidgin that day! lol
